The powder has several other names, including pipramul and peepramul; however, ganthoda is a word native to India. According to Spice Online, Gantoda powder mixed with ginger powder, water and chicken sauce is India's natural treatment for stomach discomfort and joint pain. Gandhoda powder is used in many Indian recipes and tea as an Ayurvedic treatment. Those who want to increase their magnesium intake to prevent bone problems may find the greatest benefit in drinking milk or eating dairy products. This is because some dairy products contain both calcium and magnesium, which are synergistic in this respect. For patients with lactose intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome, this may not be ideal, because milk can cause a variety of gastrointestinal symptoms.
